Veranos de la Villa Festival
The Veranos de la Villa is a key event in the capital's cultural programme. During July and August, citizens and visitors can enjoy a programme that includes the city's major cultural venues and makes room for the most important artistic genres.
There will be one essential new offering at this year's Veranos de la Villa festival: a new space located by the Puente del Rey bridge in Madrid Río. Within the cultural backbone formed by Madrid Río, you will find an open air space as part of this year's Veranos de la Villa festival, located by Casa de Campo Park, between Iván de Vargas Palace and Huerta de la Partida Garden. This new space will be named after the bridge used to access it: Puente del Rey.
It offers excellent public transport links: rail, bus, metro, and taxi. Furthermore, its location offers beautiful views of the River Manzanares, as well as the Royal Palace, Almudena Cathedral and the Basilica of San Francisco El Grande.
This space will stage the cultural programme that, in previous years, took place at the Sabatini Gardens. Dance, flamenco, zarzuela operetta and musical theatre will once again be on offer to locals and visitors alike, at one of the most eagerly anticipated events of the year. And the excitement surrounding it is unsurprising, as this year's line-up includes Los Sabandeños, Estrella Morente, Tomatito, Marina Heredia, El Cigala, Dorantes, José Mercé, Parrita, Carmen Linares, José Antonio, Merche Esmeralda, Esperanza Fernández, Merche and Café Quijano, among others.
